Braking Systems

Do your brakes vibrate, pulsate, grab, screech or respond unevenly? If they do, it's time to talk to one of our brake specialists!

Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for good, safe brakes. Dirt, heat, moisture and wear and tear are the cause of most brake problems. One of our professionals here at Muffler King will inspect your entire brake system. Then he'll show you what your brake problem is before correcting it with our quality parts and service.

Your vehicle has a complex system of brake parts working in harmony together to give you all the stopping power you need. When you press the brake pedal, pressurized fluid activates the braking system.

With disc brakes the brake fluid pressure forces the brake pads against the rotor to slow and stop the wheels. Drum brakes operate on the same basic principle. As the brake fluid pressure builds, it causes the brake shoes to press against the brake drum to slow and stop the wheels.

For your safety, we strongly recommend that your brakes be inspected periodically. This preventive maintenance can save you time and money.
